Homemade Hot Cocoa

Hi, I hope you all had an amazing New Years and have been doing well. So, as it is snowing more and more and getting colder here every day, its time to break out the snow clothes. But with snow and mittens comes……..hot chocolate! Here is my recipe for homemade hot chocolate.

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1 tablespoon sugar

a pinch of salt

1 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional: marshmallows or homemade whipped cream (the recipe is below)

In a small saucepan, over medium-low heat, whisk cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons milk until cocoa powder and sugar are fully dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and stir occasionally. Whisk in the vanilla and serve. Top with marshmallows or the whipped cream:

Whip 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar with 1/2 cup of heavy cream until light and fluffy.

Enjoy!

Hi Lizzy! I would love to tell you about my Christmas! So I woke up on Christmas morning bright and early (i was kind of the only completely healthy) opened presents and had a relaxed morning. it was so much fun! we just hung out at home the rest of the day and had a nice dinner.
and the next day i went to my grandma’s with my family. we had a “second” Christmas there and had lunch as well. My aunt Susan came up and stayed for the night. would you plz tell me about your Christmas? I would love to hear from you! 🙂 from The Owler
