The Polar Express Saratoga, NY Review

So last night, with our Elf on the Shelf, Skittles, in our pajamas, we climbed aboard the Polar Express.

Our seats were so nice. We got themed bags and cups. Soon the traditional hot chocolate song came on as the chefs filled cups with rich, steaming hot chocolate. Staff came around with snowballs (marshmallows) and sugar cookies. They said that the cookies were made by Mrs. Claus and the elves helped with the sprinkles. The conductor came around and punched our golden tickets. They read the Polar Express story and suddenly a lit city appeared. A sign said “Welcome.” Elf shadows appeared in the windows, crafting toys late into the night. Elves waved from below the train. Santa waved too! Santa and the elves boarded, and the elves came around dancing. Then, Santa came around with his assistant elf, Gumdrop, signing books and handing out sweet, little bells. After that, the hobo from the story came around and urged ladies to get up and dance with him, my mother being one of them! He shouted out: “I believe! I believe!”, as he left. We sang Christmas carols on the ride back, and were sad when it was time to leave the train.

I certainly can’t wait to go again next year!
